Abstract

The use of plants with biocidal properties is an important technological instrument within the ecological management of pests. In this work, the effect of the crude extract obtained from Tagetes erecta leaves at different doses on the in vitro control of Alternaria porri, A. solani, Cladosporium fulvum and Cercospora beticola, disease-causing agents in three horticultural crops, was evaluated. The method of obtaining the extracts was percolation with 70% ethanol, a solvent that was eliminated by rotoevaporation. The bioassay was set up according to a completely randomized design and the agar dilution method was used. The strains were isolated from field material. With the extract dose of 1g.L-1, inhibition percentages greater than 65% were obtained for all fungi. For A. solani, C. fulvum and C. beticola this dose was superior to Zineb (commercial fungicide used as a control). The data on pH, refractive index, color, odor, flavor and results of the phytochemical screening carried out on the plant extract are shown.
